The Relative % Mode (LX105 only) really helps to see 'how dark' an area is: Holding the sensor in an area of optimum light level, push the % button. This level is now recorded as 100%. Now move the sensor to another area. The meter will display this new level as a % of the first.

You and your clients can now see that the new area is (say) 40% darker than the optimum light level and you can both make informed decisions on the need for additional lighting.

Using the Metermaster LX105 or LX107 Broad-Spectrum Light Meters means the end of slow conversion tables. When you want to measure different light sources (fluorescent or incandescent for example) just switch to that type and the meter automatically corrects for wavelength differences.

Discovered around 1825 and used for many years in theatres, a brilliant light was produced by burning a cylinder of quicklime (calcium oxide).

Hence the expression used to describe those at the centre of people’s attention, ‘being in the limelight’.
